The elders of the Richland Road Church of Christ, an a cappella church in Marion, Ohio, are in search of a pulpit minister. Our current minister, who has faithfully and energetically served our congregation for nearly 35 years, is retiring in the fall of 2024. It is our desire to find a committed replacement that can serve this growing Central Ohio church for years to come.
The Richland Road Church is one of the larger congregations in Ohio, drawing members from seven counties. We are a Christ-first, Bible-centric, service-oriented family of believers located in Marion, Ohio, which itself has a population of 35,000. We have a consistent Sunday morning attendance of nearly 300, spread between two services. Additionally, we have an active social media outreach on Facebook and YouTube, and are involved in several community outreach activities. To continue to expand this outreach, we are seeking a growth-minded minister.
In addition to our elders and deacons, our current staff includes a pulpit minister, an involvement minister, a part-time youth minister, a part-time children’s minister, and two secretaries. We have several children’s and youth ministries including a youth group, teen and children’s classes on both Sunday morning and Wednesday evening, church camp, Vacation Bible School, a teen retreat, an annual Bible Bowl competition, and frequent other activities.
Adult ministries include dynamic Sunday morning and Wednesday evening classes, small-group Bible studies, hospital visitation, an emergency food pantry, monthly food and clothing community giveaways, and back-to-school supplies provided for community families. We also offer special group ministries for the women, men, and seniors.
We are looking for an applicant with a bachelor’s degree and previous preaching experience. A strong work ethic and the ability to be self-motivated are a must with such responsibilities as preaching, teaching, individual and small group Bible studies, counseling members, visitation, weekly bulletin articles, and maintaining a social media presence.
